Dr. Jane Orient: “Rooting Out the Censorship-Industrial Complex is Essential for Our Survival as a Free Sovereign Nation”
As the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) files an amicus curiae brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in a major case focused on government collusion with Big Tech to censor Americans’ free speech, the group’s executive director tells Lumen-News the case’s outcome is monumental “for our survival as a free sovereign nation.”
On Wednesday, AAPS filed its brief against the Biden administration’s argument in the case of Murthy v. Missouri, in which the state attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana, and other private parties, argued the administration violated the First Amendment’s right to free speech.
The parties asserted the Biden administration colluded with social media platform giants to censor posts and video that contained opinion opposed to that of the government regarding COVID-19 public health policy and the related vaccines.
AAPS Executive Director Jane Orient, M.D. said that while many Americans perceive the COVID pandemic to be “over,” the devastating consequences of how the pandemic was handled remains a serious concern for the future.
“Covid may be a generally mild endemic disease, but it is not over,” Orient told Lumen-News. “Frequent ‘booster’ shots are still recommended annually, like flu shots, and there is already talk of Disease X.”
During a session in January at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2024, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, when discussing “Disease X”, “You may even call COVID as the first ‘Disease X,’ and it may happen again.”

Such possibilities spark Orient to observe “no one has been held accountable for the disastrous Covid public health response, though even Fauci has admitted the six-foot distance rule that wrecked so many businesses was just made up.”
“The truth about vaccine adverse effects has still not been fully revealed, and is still being suppressed,” she asserted, emphasizing the same use of censorship is being employed in other areas.
“An even worse tyranny justified by ‘climate change’ is being imposed, and censorship is also keeping the public in the dark about this,” Orient said. “Rooting out the censorship-industrial complex is essential for our survival as a free sovereign nation.”
The AAPS amicus brief argues in opposition to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Medical Association (AMA) – allies of the Biden administration:
Our national motto is not “In Vaccines We Trust,” or even “In Government We Trust.” The right to criticize vaccines and government mandates of vaccines should not be abridged as brazenly sought here by the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Ass’n, et al. (“AMA Amici”) and other allies of the Biden Administration. Freedom to criticize is an essential safeguard against tyranny, and a First Amendment right. U.S. CONST. Amend. I. It is alarming that any professional organization would argue for censorship as the AMA Amici do in this case.
“Abuse of government power through misuse of scientific or medical assertions is not new, and a robust First Amendment free of government censorship is necessary to deter such abuse,” the brief asserts.
“The Surgeon General of Florida, our third largest state, cannot obtain answers from the Biden Administration about safety concerns with Covid vaccines,” Andrew Schlafly, general counsel of AAPS, said in the AAPS press release. “Instead of censoring issues raised about the Covid vaccines on social media, the Biden Administration officials should be providing answers to the questions raised.”
“When the federal government tells social media platforms to take action against postings, then our basic free speech rights are gravely endangered,” he added.
Thank You, Jane and Andy,
Thank you from the part of my heart where a sense of honor still glows.

The public is much more attuned to the tyranny imposed by covid than mainstream medical groups like the AMA and the AAP. I hope nonphysicians will join the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons; they can do so free of charge at www.aapsonline.org.
